San Jorge Hospital in Huesca achieves the first organ donation after circulatory death in the province
6 April 2026This call for proposals aims to promote research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and to consolidate a stable scientific network in Spain dedicated to the study and observation of the disease. Funding will be provided for individual or coordinated projects. The Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) has collaborated on the evaluation of applications and the scientific monitoring of the winning projects.
Thematic areas:
- Genetic, molecular, cellular and epidemiological studies of ALS and motor neuron diseases
- Development of diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment-response biomarkers for ALS.
- Preclinical projects that promote the development of future drugs to prevent and/or alleviate the effects of ALS.
- Clinical research projects
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Being entities and institutions of the national health system, public and private universities, public research organizations, and Spanish research centers, public or private, with their own legal entity.
- Have legal personality, be validly incorporated, and have tax residence or a permanent establishment in Spain.
The IP must:
- Belong to the beneficiary entity.
- Be in possession of the title of doctor.
- Submit a single project application (either individual or coordinated).
Research staff must:
- Present yourself as a member of up to two projects (individual or coordinated), justifying the time dedicated to each project.
- Please note that each research team may submit as many different proposals as they wish, and the IP of each proposal must be different (either the team's own IP or different postdocs from that team).
Each project will be provided with between EUR 100.000 and 140.000 depending on its rating.
Application
The application must be submitted in English and must be submitted by the IP for individual projects and by the coordinating IP for coordinated projects, in addition to the legal representative of the coordinating center.
