3 February, 2025The need to promote research in areas of strategic interest for the Community of Madrid and to strengthen research groups at universities and other research organisations involves promoting calls for proposals that encourage the implementation of disruptive projects at the forefront of knowledge, from a primarily international perspective and prioritising spaces for collaboration between research teams specialised in complementary research areas with great added value, addressing the scientific challenges of society from two different disciplinary environments.
The purpose of these grants is:
- Develop disruptive research projects, at the forefront of knowledge, between two research groups belonging to universities and research organisations of the Community of Madrid that carry out their research activity in two different sub-areas of the six scientific-technical areas (ANNEX I of the Call).
- Promote the participation of research groups in the Synergy Grant call of the European Research Council of the European Commission.
- Strengthen, when necessary, the capabilities of the research groups participating in synergistic R&D projects, through the acquisition of new specific scientific-technical equipment.
These grants will last for 3 years and must fall within two scientific-technical sub-areas of the six established areas, one of which will be the main scientific-technical sub-area. The amount will be a maximum of 300.000 euros per synergistic R&D project and year.
Requirements
Consortium Requirements:
- Composed of two entities to which belong the two research groups that join together to develop the synergistic collaborative R&D project.
- One of the two research groups must be the coordinating research group.
- Each research group will be led by a principal investigator.
- A research group may not participate in more than one grant application in the same call. A principal investigator may not lead more than one research group.
- All members of a research group must have an employment relationship with the entity to which said group belongs.
- Each consortium must have an R&D manager, who will be a person belonging to the coordinating entity of the synergistic R&D project and will be responsible for carrying out the administrative coordination functions of the consortium.
Requirements for the principal investigator of each group:
- In possession of a doctorate degree.
- Permanent link with the entity or, in the case of having a temporary link, this must cover the entire execution of the synergistic R&D project.
- They may only participate in one research group of the same call.
Suggestions
Applications will be submitted to the Electronic Registry of the Community of Madrid by the coordinating entity and will include the signed commitment to participate by the legal representatives of participating entities other than the coordinating entity.
The following documentation must be attached to the electronic form in standardized forms:
- Report describing the consortium that will develop the synergistic R&D project.
- Scientific and technical report that includes the state of the art, scientific and technical objectives, motivation, methodology, work plan and result indicators and that clearly demonstrates the complementarity and added value of the collaboration between the two research groups.
- Economic memory.
- Responsible statements.
