Women receive different pharmacological treatment than men after a myocardial infarction.

The research, conducted by the Aragon Health Services Research Group (GRISSA), involved nearly 4000 people who survived a first acute myocardial infarction. Researchers from the IIS Aragón and the University of Zaragoza participated in the study.

Aragón participates in a study that demonstrates that colonoscopy and fecal occult blood testing are equivalent for detecting colorectal cancer.

Researchers from Clínic-IDIBAPS and the University Hospital of the Canary Islands have coordinated a study of 57.000 people that demonstrates that both strategies are similar for detecting colorectal cancer within screening programs. The COLONPREV project involved researchers from the Aragón Health Research Institute (IIS Aragón).

The Excelsiov project, supported by Roche Farma, enables more efficient care for macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema. The IIS Aragón will analyze the program's results and disseminate the ophthalmological care model.

Breastfeeding attenuates the genetic predisposition to obesity in adolescence

The 'Growth, exercise, nutrition and development (GENUD)' group (GIIS066) from the IIS Aragón and the University of Zaragoza has published a study in the journal Pediatric Obesity highlighting the protective role of breastfeeding against obesity, after analyzing data from 715 European adolescents.
