Pioneering grants awarded for the hiring of knowledge transfer agents
28 July 2025IIS Aragón and Aspanoa encourage participation in this charity event for children with cancer.
The Huesca town of Almudévar will host the next Saturday September 27 the thirteenth edition of the MTB Aspanoa, a charity cycling event organized by the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer of Aragon (Aspanoa), whose main objective is to raise public awareness about childhood cancer and raise funds to finance the services that Aspanoa provides at its House in Almudévar.
The event will once again feature three routes adapted to different levels: a 60-kilometer long route, a 29-kilometer short route, and a 5-kilometer family route. The long and short routes will be timed using a chip, although there will be no classifications or podiums. The family route, which is always neutralized, is designed for children aged 6 and over accompanied by an adult.
Open enrollment
Registrations can now be made through the Aspanoa website until Wednesday, September 24, or until the maximum capacity of 1.000 cyclists is reached.
The registration price is 25 Euros for long and short routes and 5 Euros for the family. If places are available, you can register on the day of the event for 30 euros (5 euros for the family).
Participants will receive a race number, chip timing (on the long and short routes), refreshments, an Almudévar braid from Pastelería Tolosana, and other gifts. Those who choose the family route will also receive a 2 for 1 at the Zaragoza Amusement Park.
Services and festive atmosphere
The event will feature showers, bike wash facilities, a bar, children's entertainment, inflatables, and medical assistance. In addition, refreshment points will be set up along all routes.
Electric bikes will also be available for rent to participate in the event, thanks to the collaboration of local companies. Part of the rental proceeds will go to Aspanoa's social programs.
The total proceeds from the event will go towards financing the services that Aspanoa provides in its Almudévar House, a space where children with cancer can enjoy camps, workshops, and rest breaks with their families. The organization also supports research into childhood cancer and offers psychological and social support throughout the entire cancer process.
Aspanoa encourages not only cyclists but anyone who wishes to contribute to this charitable cause to participate. "Sport is a magnificent tool for mobilizing society around a reality as difficult as childhood cancer," the organization states.
