14 March, 2025This call aims to promote the development of effective and accessible solutions for treating heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) in women in sub-Saharan Africa, India, and Pakistan (although researchers may be located anywhere in the world).
Thematic areas:
- Measurement and standardization: Develop and validate improved methods for measuring HMB and establish standardized research protocols.
- Innovative diagnostics: Propose or test existing technologies to identify causes of HMB, including the use of artificial intelligence.
- Treatment and access: To assess the effectiveness and accessibility of treatments, such as hormonal contraceptives, in resource-limited settings.
- Eepidemiology and impact: To assess the burden of disease, patterns, and impact on gynecological health and quality of life of women in resource-limited settings.
- Biological mechanisms: Advancing our understanding of the fundamental biology of HMB to identify targets for innovative diagnostics and treatments.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Being non-profit organizations, for-profit companies, international organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions.
- Submit proposals led by women or women-led organizations, as well as to institutions located in low- and middle-income countries.
