46th San Juan de Dios Nursing Competition – San Juan de Dios Foundation and Comillas Pontifical University

The competition aims to promote nursing research from any field of action, as well as to encourage the dissemination of research related to humanized care in the healthcare field.

There are two modalities:

• Assistance for the development of a research project
  • The financial endowment will be EUR 7.000, an amount received by the IP or by the public or private institution legally established in Spain to which the IP of the project is linked.
• 9th Special Hospitality Award for the best article published in indexed scientific journals with volume/number/DOI assignment during the year 2025, whose theme is humanization in the healthcare field
  • The prize money will be EUR 1.500, which will be received by the winner (nominative) on the day the prize is awarded.

Competition rules

Investigation project:

• The research projects submitted must focus on the past and/or present professional practice of nursing in all areas of care.
• The projects will be proposals led by nurses working in a legally established public or private institution in Spain. The managing body will be the Foundation/Research Institute or University with which the nurse has a contractual relationship.
• Those belonging to the OHSJD are excluded from this competition as Principal Investigators, and may only participate as collaborating researchers
• The Principal Investigator (PI) will be responsible for the scientific and technical execution of the project, and the institution receiving the aid will be responsible for the financial allocation.
• The project must be original and unpublished and must not have been the subject of any type of award or previous funding.
• No IP address may participate in more than two applications
• A report will be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
• The project report must not contain identifying information about the principal investigator, the research team, or the workplace to ensure the impartiality of the jury.

Hospitality

• The article's theme should focus on aspects related to Humanization in the field of care and projects that highlight this aspect of clinical practice.
• The published article will be presented in PDF format.
• A single article can only be submitted to one of the research competitions organized by the San Juan de Dios School of Nursing and Physiotherapy
